Adjustable Subscription Renewal Dates#4

When reviewing my monthly expenses, I want to set the renewal date of my subscription to the day after I receive my paycheck so I can give without fear of an overdraft - or I can also define when my next renewal should happen.

We’ve been very interested in implementing something like this, but we would not be able to do it for all payment gateways. We are considering more flexible subscription management options for top payment gateways, like Stripe.

We’re changing the status from Under Review to Open until we have more concrete plans to share.

Adjustable subscription renewal dates would be very handy for us, because the only option we have now is to cancel their subscription, and then hoping they might wnt to set it up again. = risk to loosing them

As a user, I’m facing a challenge with the current setup of GoCardless Gateway. I would like to have my subscriptions configured such that payments are taken on the 1st of each month. This feature is currently not available, and it would be a great addition to the platform. It would provide more flexibility in managing my subscriptions and ensure that my payments align with my preferred schedule.

I have a client who is looking for a functionality which is somewhat advanced functionality but related to adjustable subscription dates.

We would want to allow donors who choose to give a recurring donation to choose a future “Start Date” - when the recurring payments will begin. I imagine it would look something like this: There would be a section in the form settings for “Recurring Start Dates” 1. Enable/Disable 2. We would enable it per form or globally When enabled, the following 3 options appear: 1. Checkbox for “Allow Today’s Date” - If checked > the frontend form would have an option for the donor to choose today’s date as the “Start date” 2. Checkbox for “Allow User Defined Date” - If checked > the frontend form would have an option for the donor to select the “Start Date” from a date picker 3. Checkbox for “Allow Admin Defined Date” - If checked > a date field appears which allows admin to enter a set start date The frontend form would have an option for the donor to select “This Workers Start Date - dd/mm/yy” as the “Start Date” We would still need to record these as “future” donations inside GiveWP. Maybe they could have a status like “Pending Future Payment”? And then once they’ve been processed by Stripe they are changed to “Complete”.

Mehul Gohil: Thanks for the insight! It sounds like your client would be most interested in a separate but related feature regarding Subscription Start Dates, so be sure to upvote it as well.

“Does GiveWP Recurring Donations allow the donor to choose the date on which their gift processes for the month? From what I can tell, recurring gifts renew on the date the original donation was made, but I would like to know if donors can utilize the Date form field to choose the processing date of their donation. Thank you!”

“Usually people get their salaries at the end of the month, so it’s best to charge these subscriptions at the end of the month, rather than the beginning of middle of the month as these subscriptions maybe fail. Also easier for accounting reasons.”
