Email to "Send Annual Receipt" to Donors#21

As an Admin I would like to schedule an automatic an end of year summary email to send to my donors. This email would include the Annual Receipt PDF for folks to download.

Use Case

The Admin would like to automatically send and end-of-year statements to all of their donors so they don’t have to log into their donor dashboard to receive their annual receipts.

The current issue is there isn’t a straightforward way to direct donors to view their annual receipt at the end of every tax year. Because GiveWP does not have non-transactional emails available natively, the only option is for Jennifer to use her third-party email service to create and schedule an end-of-year automation which includes the URL to the donor dashboard on their website for donors to then log in to check their statement(s).

Ideally, there would be a donor email that could be scheduled. Then, similarly to the PDF Receipt Add-on, there would be an email tag that generate a link to the populated PDF of the Annual Receipt. This would allow the admin to provide any/all necessary tax information and “Thank You” messaging in the body of the email, while the Annual Receipt PDF would be a professional tax document.

Marci and her team have already implemented GiveWP for online fundraising but they would love for providing their end-of-year tax receipts to be much easier. Currently they have been using a third-party emailing service to send the email, and they would at the very least be able to include a link to download their Annual Receipt from the email much like the {pdf_receipt} email tag.

As we approach the end of 2023, this feature is sorely needed. An editable email template, with a link shortcode to download that unique donor’s annual receipt PDF. Right now I’m exporting all donors to a CSV, collecting the email addresses, and manually writing a year-end email. I’m including a link to the Donor Dashboard, and asking donors to obtain the annual reports themselves.
