Claudia Salvioni via Priority Support

Two buttons are included in the form below: one for the ‘Once (1)’ or ‘recurring donation (2).

Is it possible to put it in the multi step donation form? If so, how?

“Is it possible to set up reoccuring donations?

The client also mentioned they accept donations in different currencies and then this is converted.

This is the page: https://tapf.org.uk/donate/india

Thank you for your help.”

More great examples: https://www.wateraid.org/uk/donate https://msf.org.uk/secure/donate (this example particularly demonstrates what customers are often looking for, showcasing the difference between a one-time vs. recurring donation in the donation level descriptions.)

Jennifer Koutoulas via Presale Demo Jennifer (and team) love the look of the one-time and recurring toggles and want an out-of-the-box template that includes this.

This toggle of one-time and recurring donation form example from FundraiseUp has a nice heart icon & action when one clicks to donate monthly: https://fragilex.org/donate/ This customer moved from GiveWP to FundraiseUp

Lots of GiveWP customers have created their own custom approach to this as well: https://give.foxcitieshabitat.org/every-nail-every-dollar-2021/ https://herchoicebirmingham.org/heroic-love https://fistulafoundation.org/donate/ (this has some extra customization added to create the toggle/popup effect) With custom development, includes nice display of sections on form: https://childvision.ie/how-to-help/donate/

David NIsson via Customer SuccessThank you for a highly useful donation plugin that has helped us greatly. Most of the donations to our organization are from recurring donors, so we use the GiveWP Recurring add-on and have configured the checkbox that says “Make this donation monthly” to be checked by default. However, we have recently received complaints from two users who missed this checkbox and signed up for monthly subscriptions meaning to make one-time payments. An interface design change that would be very helpful in our case is: instead of having donors opt in using a checkbox that is selected by default, they see a section on the form entitled “Donation Frequency” with radio buttons that allow them to select “One Time” or “Monthly”. This way, donors are more likely to notice the setting. Would it be possible for the GiveWP Recurring Donations plugin to make such a change, or at least provide this as a customization option?

I agree. I made this request to Ben as well and mentioned that I had achieved this effect by making two forms, one for one-time and one for recurring donations and then putting the shortcodes for these forms into a TABS modules so that the appropriate form was displayed when the tab was selected. This allowed us to have different donation options for the two forms (i.e. lower amounts for recurring). Clearly it would be cleaner to have a checkbox selection on the first page of the form before the donation amount buttons

This is a great request. Our team is going to keep this in mind especially as ideas for new form templates are developed. Please vote and comment here for this issue!

I agree. It reduces donor friction and the number of forms on the website. I would use this.

This is a very common request. Many folks create their own display for this using their theme builder, but having this built into GiveWP could be really neat. This customer designed this on their own, a similar example: https://herchoicebirmingham.org/heroic-love
